The McCATS Centre (McMaster Computer Assisted Theological Studies)

The McCATS Centre is a first-class theological resource centre for those engaged in biblical research. The Centre has been prepared to benefit students in the areas of biblical study most conducive to computerized help and contains software designed to aid in the learning of the biblical languages, as well as powerful applications for searching Bible texts in a variety of formats and languages.

  • Logos BIBLE v. 2.0

    Second to none as a word study tool, this is an aid to personal devotions and biblical understanding. This package includes KJV, NKJV, NASB, NRSV, RSV, Nestle–Aland 26th edition, the Byzantine/Majority Textform, Septuaginta, Biblia Hebraica Stuttgartensia, the Reina-Valera Actualizada, the Enhanced Strong’s Lexicon, TVM, the Treasury of Scripture Knowledge, the New Bible Dictionary, maps, and the New Nave’s Topical Bible.

  • Logos Bible Atlas

    This electronic Bible atlas features over 90 subject maps, two geographical site maps, and a 3D topographical map.

  • Bible Word PLUS v. 3.10

    This program allows grammatical searches on the Hebrew and Greek Bibles, as well as lexical searches on the Septuagint, NIV, RSV, and KJV.

  • GRAMCORD v. 4.05b

    This program allows complex grammatical searches, parsing (it includes Parser Plus), and quick concordance searches of the Greek New Testament.

  • Memcards v. 2.S

    This teaching aid allows for programmatic vocabulary acquisition of both Hebrew and Greek.

  • Hammoreh v. 1.01

    This Hebrew tutorial helps students to identify the changes to roots in the morphological system of the Hebrew language.

  • Chiwriter v. 3.17

    This multilingual word processor allows easy use of both Greek and Hebrew alphabets.

  • WordPerfect with Scripture Fonts v. 1.1

    Both Hebrew and Greek alphabets are accessible with Scripture Fonts.

  • Nota Bene v. 4.2

    The multilingual word processor for academic computing, Nota Bene supports Greek, Hebrew, Cyrillic, and various transliteration schemes, and contains the Ibid bibliography program and the Orbis research tool.

  • Logos Dead Sea Scrolls

    This interactive multi-media CD-ROM surveys the archaeology, history, and manuscripts from Qumran.
