Sexual harassment is a violation of the integrity of persons in the form of unsolicited, unwelcome, verbal or physical behaviour, which discriminates on the basis of gender about a person's body, attire, gender, marital status or economic status. Among faculty, staff, and students, sexual harassment of any kind will not be tolerated.
McMaster Divinity College has a zero tolerance policy and a protocol concerning sexual harassment. Definitions of harassment are available in that statement. A copy of the policy and the protocol is available from the President's Office. The College appoints a Sexual Harassment Officer. Contact the President's Office for the name of the Sexual Harassment Officer.
The Office of Human Rights and Equity Services (HRES) of McMaster University receives enquiries and complaints concerning any form of harassment or discrimination and attempts confidential resolution. The office of HRES is located in the McMaster University Student Centre, Room 212 (phone - 905-525-9140, ext. 27581).
