Additional Requirements for International/Visa Students
- TOEFL Certificate or other satisfactory evidence of English proficiency, if English is not your first language
- TOEFL minimum scores: 237 on TOEFL CBT, 580 on TOEFL PBT, 92 IBT
- Proof of financial support
- Official translation of foreign documents, including transcripts
- A copy of your Student Visa will be required before registration
Master of Divinity, Master of Theological Studies, Diploma in Ministry, and Certificate of Christian Studies
Please enclose brief statements commenting on the following:
- your Christian experience
- some of your most significant learning experiences (formal or informal)
- the nature of your present local church involvement and/or para-church involvement
- your ministry and/or professional goals and how you expect to contribute to the church and society through your future ministry
- how you expect McMaster Divinity College to advance your ministry and professional development
References (no relatives)
- Pastor or Minister of the church you attend (or equivalen)t
- Professor from the university from which you received your undergraduate degree or someone else who can comment on your academic ability, if possible
- A third person who can comment on you as a Christian
Application Deadline: June 1 for September term, November 15 for January term
- Include a transcript from each institution, university, college, and technical institute attended since high school, and a copy of your high school transcript if you do not have a undergraduate degree.
- Students applying to the Certificate of Christian Study program must be at least 23 years of age.
- Diploma in Ministry students must be over the age of 35 and include a submit a letter of support from their denominational office, or equivalent.
Occasional Students
Transcripts are not required for occasional students, however one (1) letter of reference and a brief personal statement should accompany the application.
Visiting Students (Occasional LOP)
If you are intending to register at McMaster Divinity College as a visiting student and intend to have your course grade transferred to your home university upon completion, please ensure the following steps are followed:
- All new students to McMaster Divinity College are required to go through the admission process as outlined at the top of this page under "General Requirements".
- A letter of permission is required from your home university giving permission for the course to be transferred to your program.
- Students must register their courses through the Student Records Office (Room 210) at McMaster Divinity College. Tuition fees are to be paid at the time of registration.
- In order to have your grade transferred at the end of the session, please submit a transcript request form to the Registrar's Office at McMaster University (http://www.macdiv.ca/students/forms.php).
