Stan has taught for over twenty years in post-secondary institutions in Canada, the USA, and the UK. His publications include fourteen authored books and over 100 authored journal articles; he has also edited over 55 volumes. He remains a well-known and respected expert in Greek and New Testament studies throughout the world, and has a vision for the College to become a first choice seminary of academic excellence and exemplary leadership training.

Lee brings his experience of 17 years as a pastor with the Christian Missionary Alliance into his role as Director of Ministry Formation. He sees Ministry Formation as an integral part of ministry preparation since it is the place where theory and practice become integrated. He oversees all aspects of the program, from assisting students as they look for placement opportunities to co-ordinating Ministry Reflection Seminars. Lee also teaches in the area of Mission and Evangelism and the Church in culture.

Professor of Old Testament

Mark joined the College in 2003 after teaching for nine years at Canadian Theological Seminary. He has authored six books, edited nine volumes of collected essays, and written over 70 articles on various topics related to the Old Testament and Christian Theology. Key areas of interest include Old Testament Theology, prayer and penitence in Old Testament and Christian Theology, Babylonian and Persian Period Hebrew Books and History (Jeremiah, Lamentations Chronicles, Ezra, Nehemiah, Haggai, Zechariah, Malachi), the Book of the Twelve (Minor Prophets) and Judges. Mark enjoys mentoring students and teaches with enthusiasm about the Old Testament and its continued relevance to the Christian life today.

Paul Evans
Assistant Professor of Old Testament

Paul specializes in Old Testament studies and in his teaching and research emphasizes the theological significance of the Old Testament and the value of its application for the Church today. He has published several articles on the books of Kings and Chronicles and a monograph entitled The Invasion of Sennacherib in the Book of Kings: A Source-Critical and Rhetorical Study of 2 Kings 18-19.  Paul has taught previously in Calgary at Ambrose University College, and in Toronto at Tyndale University College and Wycliffe College.

Gordon joined us in the summer of 2004 after five years teaching history at Tyndale University College. His research interests lie particularly in the area of church/state and church/war issues. Besides teaching at the College, he also serves as Director of the Canadian Baptist Archives.

An ordained minister in the Anglican Church of Canada, Michael teaches courses in both ministry and biblical studies in a way that seeks to integrate sound biblical exegesis, Christian spirituality, and practical application for the life and ministry of the faith community.

Wendy is the Director of Music and Worship at the Divinity College and teaches courses in Christian ministry, particularly in the areas of sacred music, liturgics, and worship. Her research and publications explore the interface of theology and church music from the early church to the present.

Steve Studebaker has taught for three years at Emmanuel College in Georgia before coming to McMaster Divinity College to take up the theology position in July 2006. He has also taught courses at Marquette University and Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. His research interests include Jonathan Edwards, David Coffey, and pneumatology.

Cindy has published in the area of discourse analysis of the New Testament and is a recognized expert on the book of Hebrews. Her first book on Hebrews and its form and meaning will appear this year. Cindy has taught previously at Mars Hill Graduate School, Denver Seminary and Colorado Christian University.

Phil comes to us from ACTS Seminaries of Trinity Western University in B.C. where he was Principal and Professor of Pastoral Theology since the fall of 2001. Phil has served three churches as Senior Pastor over the past 17 years as well as being adjunct professor in pastoral theology at Taylor Seminary, St. Stephens College, Regent College, and George Fox Evangelical Seminary. He serves as Vice-Chair of the Baptist World Alliance Study Commission on Christian Ethics where he has been active for the past twelve years. Phil has published articles and spoken widely in the areas of spiritual formation and the role of suffering in the life of the Christian. He published a devotional volume entitled Merging Streams: Prayers and Poems for a Broken World in 2005 and is currently working on a book entitled God and the Experience of Suffering. He is committed to the task of preparing our students to be holistic ministers of the gospel.
