June 4-5
This year’s Colloquium theme is Rediscovering Worship: Past, Present & Future and will appeal to anyone who leads or oversees worship in the local church, those who have an academic interest in worship, and those who are simply seeking a deeper understanding of worship. We will explore worship from a variety of contexts: the early church, today’s expression of worship in the local church, and how the worship of today will influence future expressions of worship. The Colloquium, the fifteenth in a continuing series held at McMaster Divinity College, provides an opportunity for scholars to present important perspectives on a contemporary New Testament theme. The format of the Colloquium will include presentations, brief question-and-answer sessions and a structured response to promote further discussion. Papers will be 30 minutes in length, followed by a 10-minute formal response, concluding with questions from the audience. Participation by those who attend is invited, and will be solicited throughout the day. The exact times and those participating are subject to change. It is anticipated that Dr. Stanley E. Porter will edit the papers presented at the Colloquium for publication by McMaster Divinity College Press through Wipf and Stock Publishers.Sponsorship of the Colloquium is to honour and remember Dr. H.H. Bingham, and is generously provided by members of his family.Colloquium Schedule: Saturday, June 5 Sponsorship of the Colloquium is to honour and remember Dr. H.H.
